Glorious weather for the Open WeekendThe Open Weekend was blessed with outstanding weather – clear blue skies and lots of warm sunshine although the strong wind on Saturday made playing conditions more difficult than on Sunday. The Quad Am on Saturday was extremely well supported and was a very close affair with Junior captain Sam Shaw, Steve Price and Dave Bray finishing first with 85 points. One point behind, in second place was the team comprising Mr. Captain, Mike Wilson, John Read and Jon Swindells whilst 3rd place went to Gez Moran, Pat Walker, Clive Garside and another of our up and coming juniors, Jack Marshall. |

Four members of the well known Traditional Jazz band ‘Mart Rodger Manchester Jazz’ performed a stunning set in the clubhouse on Wednesday 2nd June, for over 50 members, their spouses and friends. We invited two of our non-golfing friends from the Hope Valley, who are avid Trad Jazz fans, to come along. As Keith said “Evenings like this take me back to my miss-spent youth in the early 60’s in the Jazz clubs of Sheffield and sitting on the stage at the City Hall next to those two ‘B..... Lions’ watching all the greats of jazz perform”. |
