Annual Dinner Dance in December

The annual New Mills Golf Club Annual Dinner Dance was actually the second one this year as last year's was postponed til March due to December 2010 being snowbound - remember that?

This December the weather was OK and a fabulous evening was enjoyed by members and their guests. It was lovely to see everyone in their finery for what turned out to be a night to remember.

Members and guests alike were greeted with glasses of Bucks Fizz and Canapies beautifullly made by Liz our Stewardess and served by the attentive waiters and waitresses for the evening. The clubhouse looked fantastic decorated for the Festive Season to follow.

Colin Banks (Gents Captain) with fianceAfter the opening address by our 'Handsome Kilt-Clad Mr Captain', Colin Banks, we feasted on an excellent meal during which we were entertained and 'crooned' by our entertainer for the evening, Ali B, creating a lovely friendly atmosphere.

During Mr Captain's speech he thanked all the catering and bar staff for their splendid efforts in creating such a special evening. Ali B is not just a disco but a great singer and entertainer. His music and singing was highly complimented by everyone as he skillfully mixed the music to ensure the dance floor was full all evening. Dancers and non dancers alike enjoyed another great social evening at the club.
