Fashion show presented by FIZZ in November

A ‘Fizz’ing good night! I cannot believe that it is 8 months since Fizz last displayed their wares to the good ladies of New Mills, and oh how the styles had changed.

Back in March the promise of summer was in the air, and the light airy clothes reflected that expectation. On the 30th November the styles were for winter and the festive season, and all at extremely reasonable prices. No one could leave feeling cold, as there was a vast array of colourful and functional scarves/cowls, and some very fashionable ponchos to cover up on the way to the festive party.

Leather gloves were just £6.99, and in a variety of colours and styles. It was probably wise that the men were left at home, as I fear they may have had the tremors at the amount of trying on of outfits, and general consideration of the varied items to be bought.

Needless to say, a small amount of alcohol was imbibed by the audience, which no doubt encouraged the rush to the till with purchases, at the end of the fashion show.

Once again the, a very good night was had by all.  Fizz offer a wide range of clothes and accessories to suit any age group. And it must be said that their prices appeal to everyone, as they are very competitive with any shop on the High St.

We hope to see them again next year, but don’t wait until then to visit the club house. Liz and John extend a warm welcome to everyone, and offer tremendous ‘specials’ at all times. You might even be tempted to play golf on our spectacular course!!!!!!

Predictable, boring, ageist, expensive are definitely NOT the adjectives I would use to describe the clothes modelled by Fizz on the 16th of March, in the New Mills Golf Club.

The show was very well received by the 100+ ladies, many of whom were not playing members of the club, but friends and family of the members. We were very impressed with the clothes on offer, and it was amazing how many outfits were revealed from the ‘white van’ (but not a man in sight!!!!!!).

Lady Captain hosted the event, but the clothes were presented by Maureen and Lorraine, and very expertly modelled by the Fizz staff. Without doubt there was a mixture of clothes which were attractive to the varied age groups present on the night, and it did not take very long for the selling to start once the modelling was over. I think it would be fair to say that Fizz were impressed with the buying power of the New Mills ladies!! And the ladies were impressed with the quality, choice and prices of the clothes.

There was a very vibrant atmosphere in the club house, no doubt helped by the general ‘bon viveur’ and desire to make it a good night out, with the added pleasure of buying some very nice clothes.

There were lots of ladies going home with some purchase, from jewellery to scarves to dresses and tops. And many more were quite sure they would be visiting one of the Fizz shops in the locality, to pursue their retail therapy!!!

Non members are always welcome at any of the social events at New Mills Golf Club, and it only costs £5 to be a social member if you would like to eat, drink and make merry in a beautiful setting, with the promise of good food and reasonably priced drinks.

I can predict that there will be a repeat performance by Fizz, so watch this space for the details of this and other events at one of the friendliest and most picturesque golf clubs in the UK.
