The Pro's assessment of Hole 17
A very tricky blind tee shot over Tommys Grave, so trust the marker pole for your line, however the fairway gets very tight at around 220 yards so bear this in mind. The approach to the green is guarded by a small water hazard short left and bunkers on the right.
The Sponsor's assessment of Hole 17As if you hadn't had enough challenges to your state of mind on this back nine, here's a hole to make you glad it's nearly over! There's a sunken area between you on the tee and a raised wall of rough to clear for a rising fairway before a steady plateau and gentle fall toward the green. Ignoring the invite to put the ball into the wall of rough, and hitting a strong drive toward the maker will leave you a nice chip onto the green, but you won't see any of it until you're on the crest of the fairway. The green is relatively sympathetic and understanding after the trauma of the bank and walk up the fairway.
