The Pro's assessment of Hole 5
Stroke index 1, the tee shot is best hit as close to the marker pole as possible leaving a flat lie for the approach, any tee shot hit past the post and the lie will be very undulating. The 2nd shot is not an easy one with the green being long and narrow, and misguided approach will again be punished leaving a very difficult pitch onto the green.
Jeremy Unsworth's assessment of Hole 5This hole takes a lot of getting used to and fully deserves the Score Index 1 rating as it's nigh on impossible to hold par here. You need two very big hits to be able to reach the green in two and the out of bounds to the left of the fairway eats balls like there's no tomorrow so keep clear of that. A straight approach onto the green is by far the best option as bunkers either side lay in wait to catch the wayward. A severe run-off from the left of the green (as for most of the fairway) lays in wait to distract an errant approach shot. Good luck as you'll need it!
